Man after a stroke from Nikopol
24.08.22
We evacuated a bedridden man after a stroke from Nikopol to Dnipro. With him were a son and cat Vasiliy. We transferred them to a shelter at a railway station, where volunteers would help with the further evacuation.
From Nikopol to the occupied Energodar is one kilometre across the Dnipro river, but the volunteers didn't hear explosions. The town is frozen. 63 km of the highway from the Zaporizhzhya to the Nikopol is empty, as if in an exclusion zone. But the fountain still works in front of the city council.
Our team met very few people in the city. When volunteers put the patient in the ambulance, the neighbour offered to give water on the road. The volunteer thanked her and said that we were all thinking of them. They said goodbye with tears in their eyes.

A woman from Toretsk
21.08.22
We've evacuated a woman from Toretsk. She broke her hip a few days before the evacuation. State emergency service helped us to get the woman from her apartment to the ambulance.
In Toretsk, you can hear the explosions. There has been no water in Toretsk for four months and no gas and electricity. Our volunteers needed to wear body armour there.

An 82-year-old woman from Kostyantynivka
20.08.22
We've evacuated an 82-year-old woman from Kostyantynivka. She had several diagnoses: two strokes, a brain tumour, epilepsy, paralysis and dementia. Her daughter has taken care of her for the last twenty-seven years.
This case was problematic. On the way, our volunteer medic diagnosed a heart attack. The team were driving under tremendous tension, fearing a possible heart stop. Fortunately, everything went okay, and the volunteers successfully took the woman to the hospital.

Two women from Bakhmut
19.08.22
We've evacuated two women from Bakhmut to Chornobay (Cherkasy region). One of them has a disability. Her legs are paralyzed, and she spent the last three years in an apartment on the 3rd floor.
During the evacuation, we stopped to see landscapes and have some rest. It was a very touching moment for a woman and our team.

Selidovo – Kropyvnytskyi evacuation
17.08.22
We've evacuated an 87 years old woman and a woman with autism and a prosthesis. We took them from a temporary shelter in a school in Selidovo. They came there from different villages which were totally destroyed.
The old woman told us her house in the village was completely bombed. She has many burns on her body. One day she woke up at night because of an explosion, and everything around was on fire.

A family from Toretsk
15.08.22
We helped a family to evacuate from Toretsk to Mukachevo. A man after a stroke. He has many diseases and is partially paralyzed (only half of one hand works) and completely bedridden. With him went his wife and her mother and two cats ;)
The emergency services helped us get the man down from the 5th floor on the first day. We took the family from Toretsk to Dnipro and left them at the centre for people with disabilities for the night. The following day, we took them to Kyiv on a direct train to Mukachevo.
In Toretsk, you can already hear the explosions. Every our trip here, it gets louder and louder. There has been no water in Toretsk for four months already, no gas, and electricity only appears once every three days. The first reaction of the family at the gas station: "Wow, did you see it?!?! Here is water in the tap."

A man from Soledar
13.08.22
We've helped refugees from Soledar get to Poland. Their apartment was bombed, and they had nowhere to return. In Poland, they are waiting for.
A man has arthrosis of the limbs and moves in a wheelchair. The family stayed in Lviv for two weeks, trying to find any transport to leave. Happy to help them to get to Lublin!
