Evacuations and hozpitalizations

We organize medical evacuations from the de-occupied and frontline territories of the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. Also we help low-mobile people from these territories to get to hospitals and organize hospitalizations.

Six people family from Toretsk

11.08.22

We evacuated a family of six people from Toretsk (Donetsk region) to their old house in Belogorilka village (Poltava region). Grand-grandmother is 98 years old, and an ambulance was the only way for her to evacuate. Grandma is 70 years old. Two sons, two grandchildren, a cat and all their things.

One of the sons is after a stroke and doesn't work now. Another defended Donetsk airport in 2014. After that, he received a concussion of the 2nd degree near Avdiivka and was demobilized as a veteran. The ten years old girl wants to be a YouTube blogger and to have a show about rescuing cats. She wants to save everyone on the planet.

The family never lived in that house in Belogorilka, it's old, but at least there is no shooting there. When we arrived at their house, it was 2 a.m. There was no light, and the door was closed. The family could not open it. But we had a crowbar in the ambulance and helped with it ;)

On the road to Toretsk, our driver saw an unexploded missile half in the asphalt. You can already hear the explosions there. Every our trip it gets louder and louder. There has been no water in Toretsk for four months already, no gas, and electricity only appears once every three days. When children saw water at a gas station, they ran crying: "Father, look, here is water, we can wash faces."

A man with epilepsy

04.08.22

We've evacuated the man with multiple bruises and injuries after a beating. His condition was even more complicated because of epilepsy and other health problems. The last couple of days before we took him away, he had epilepsy attacks.

The patient also took the wrong medicine before the evacuation, making things worse. The way was very nervous, he needed a lot of attention from the paramedic—even our volunteer Medic from Norway, who went home after rotation, connected and consulted remotely. In the end, everything is fine. Together, volunteers managed to deal with it.

A woman to Shalimov Institute

03.08.22

We arranged for a hospital and took the woman from Kramatorsk to Kyiv to the Shalimov Institute. This is the best surgery clinic.

The woman had liver cirrhosis. Her stomach is big due to swelling and fluid inside, which collects because of problems with the liver.

The department in this clinic deals specifically with liver problems, it's the best place for treatment for her. Our volunteers had an excellent impression of the clinic and team, so the woman is in good hands.

Family from the Donetsk region

02.08.22

We've evacuated a family: wife and husband. A man had an insult. He lost his leg, was paralysed and had trouble speaking. They are moving to Europe for treatment and rehabilitation. We were glad to evacuate them from the Donetsk region to Lviv. From there, the next transport would take them further.

On the way to the family, we delivered a full track of medical aids to a local hospital.

Man with a disability to Germany

01.08.22

The longest and most challenging evacuation. It took us four months. A family evacuated from Kharkiv on our bus with their son, who moves in a wheelchair. They didn't have any documents, so they couldn't cross the border.

We needed to move them 3-4 times and find different places to stay in Lviv. Our team members took their dog, Chester, because it wasn't allowed to stay there.

We communicated with different clinics in different countries and found a centre specialising in such problems. We helped them to register their son's disability, get all the needed documents and solve issues with hospitals and the military.

And finally, they are very friendly greeted in Germany and plan their first visit to the doctor.

An older lady from Toretsk

28.07.22

The longest driving evacuation. It took our volunteer three days to evacuate an older woman from Toretsk to Uzhgorod. 1554 km between almost extreme points of Ukraine.

The woman is paralyzed on the right side after an ischemic stroke and doesn't speak. She moves a little with only one hand and can nod as the only way of communication. For nights we stayed at hospitals, where medics did examinations and gave the woman painkillers before the further drive.

Our volunteer did his best also to cheer up the woman. He stopped for some time to show beautiful landscapes and presented flowers to her. After that, he saw her smile for the first time.

A man to Gdansk

23.07.22

We transported a patient from Lviv to Gdansk (Poland). The drivers, Lilya and Halyna, drove about 1700 km in 2 days.

The man is a refugee from Kharkiv and has a disability of the 1A group. He has a compression fracture of the spine. He is going to Europe for treatment.

The team transported the patient and talked with a local hospital to spend there a few days. Our volunteer paramedic also paid for the hotel for the first days.

Who we are

We had businesses and launched startups, so we have strong digital and management skills. We use these skills to help Ukrainians survive this difficult time.

Now, we focus on medical help on de-occupied territories, and it helps us to help efficiently. But on the beginning of the full-scale invasion, we had different initiatives:

  • Delivered humanitarian and military aid.

  • Helped people with evacuation.

  • Launched a tech solution that helped with coordination.
